A Service of Remembrance

On Sunday March 20th in the Garden of Remembrance in Dublin City Centre a National Day of Remembrance and Reflection Service took place to remember Loved Ones who died in Nursing Homes and Healthcare Settings throughout Ireland during COVID-19.

Here in Highfield Healthcare in the afternoon of Wednesday 23rd March we too held a service Remembrance and Reflection in our Garden of Remembrance in remembering all our loved residents who died under our care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We invite you to watch this video below and pause in silence in remembering your loved one too as “There is comfort in Friendship you shared, Hope in prayer and Sunshine in all your treasured memories”.

Remembrance & Reflection

Today (March 20th) in the Garden of Remembrance – Dublin City Centre is a day of Remembrance and Reflection for all who have died in Nursing Homes throughout Ireland during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We here in Highfield Healthcare are doing the same. Over these past two and half years COVID-19 has touched each of our lives especially by the loss of someone we loved and who was so very dear to us.

Their memories live on and this is evident by this special day.

Wherever you are today we invite you to join with us by having a ONE MINUTE SILENCE in remembering all these precious lives.

Denis Eustace: Minding the Mind

Dr Denis Eustace was a recent guest on the Mick Clifford Podcast with the Irish Examiner, where he discussed some very worrying features in the mental health of older people, which he and his colleagues have noticed since the onset of the pandemic.

Pfizer/BioNtech Vaccine Programme

Highfield Healthcare are pleased to announce that we are preparing to roll out the Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine to residents and staff on the week commencing 18th January.  We wish to share with you some important information in advance about the vaccine programme.

Highfield management team believes that it is vital that all residents receive the vaccine to protect their health and well-being.

The views of family members are important in this decision-making process and indeed families are often the best placed to understand what the person would have wished. While no other person such as a family member can consent to the vaccine on behalf of a person who lacks capacity to consent, for those who do lack capacity, a health care professional will make a decision, taking all this into account and based on what he/she believes is in their best interest.

As this is an urgent matter, we particularly wish to hear from anyone who is concerned about their relative in our care receiving the vaccination. Should you have concerns or specific queries, we ask you to please contact your family member’s treating doctor or our appointed Vaccination Family Liaison Person Kelley Daly on 01 8865418 by Friday 8th January

Thank you for your continued support during this difficult time. We hope to be in a position to welcome visitors back soon following completion of the vaccine programme.

See below links to more detailed information regarding the vaccine programme, which may be helpful or answer some questions you may have.
