Highfield Healthcare

Highfield Healthcare provides specialist care to the elderly. It was founded by Dr. John Eustace in 1825 and is currently managed by the fifth and sixth generations of the Eustace family. Highfield Healthcare has expanded significantly since inception and now has 4 facilities and a total complement of 213 beds.

New standards introduced under HIQA (Health Information and Quality Authority) have sought to improve standards throughout the sector, however high standards have always been the ethos of Highfield Healthcare. Our Mission Statement is "Committed to providing the highest standard of care and support to all our residents. Our patients are cared for in an environment appropriate to their needs, where the priority is to preserve their dignity and promote their independence".

We are on the 'preferred providers' list for both the HSE 'Fair Deal' funding programme and for VHI, Quinn Healthcare and Aviva private medical insurance schemes.

Alzheimer Care Centre Unique purpose built centre for mobile Alzheimer patients. In-house Consultant & Activities Therapist On the 'preferred providers' list for the HSE 'Fair Deal' funding programme
High Dependency Unit Unit specially Designed for people requiring intensive care and Support. In-house Consultant & Activities Therapist. On the 'preferred providers' list for the HSE Fair Deal' funding programme
Elmhurst Nursing Home Our main focus with long term care is to provide a homely environment for residents when they are no longer able to maintain a level of independence suitable to live in their own homes.
Desmond Centre The Desmond Centre is a subsection of the Elmhurst Nursing Home, which caters for 27 patients with enduring mental illness
Memory Clinic The Memory Clinic is a specialised service for people experiencing memory loss and related cognitive changes. It is a day centre and as a result does not require any beds. It provides assessment, evaluation and diagnostic services, as well as ongoing medication management and information and support for family and caregivers.
