Dr. Denis Eustace

LRCPSI MRCPsych

Dr. Denis Eustace is the Clinical Director of Highfield Healthcare. He took up this position in 1983 and remains here to this present date. As an Old Age Psychiatrist he has been instrumental in developing and expanding Highfield Healthcare services in this field. He opened Ireland's first dementia dedicated unit in 1990 and subsequently a High Dependency Unit as well as a centre for enduring mental illness. Prior to joining Highfield Healthcare he worked in Canada as a Consultant Psychiatrist.

Stephen Eustace

Stephen Eustace is Chief Executive of the Highfield Healthcare. He joined the Company in 2005 and took the position of CEO in 2006. In this role, his primary responsibilities include providing leadership to position the Company at the forefront of the industry, developing the Company’s strategic plan, overseeing operations, implementing strategies and approving operational procedures, policies and standards. Prior to holding this position, Stephen’s experience includes being financial director of TNS Distribution, software engineer with Claris Ireland and software engineer and project manager with Connect Business Solutions.

Dr. Andrew Eustace

Dr Andrew Eustace MB., MRCPI., MRCPsych. Consultant in Psychiatry of Old Age (IMC no. 17082). He trained in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland qualifying in 1993. He then trained in medicine attaining his medical membership in 1996. He transferred to Psychiatry and attained his MRCPsych in 1999. After this he worked as a Research Fellow in the Mercer’s Institute for Research in Ageing publishing in the area of dementia and working in the memory clinic. He started working in Highfield after completing Higher Training in Psychiatry of Old Age in 2003. He looks after the Desmond Centre, Highfield Hospital and the Alzheimer’s Care Centre.

Orla Scuffil

Orla Scuffil is the Director of Operations and Quality at Highfield Healthcare.  Orla trained as a RGN at Adelaide Hospital and worked from Staff Nurse to CNM 2 grade there until the opening of Adelaide Meath and NCH Hospital in Tallaght in July 1998 where she was CNM  2 of Endoscopy unit. Orla joined Highfield Healthcare as Director of Nursing of Elmhurst Nursing Home in December 1999, later took over Hampstead and worked as the Director of Nursing of Highfield Healthcare from 2006 to 2011.

 

Melanie Eustace

Melanie Eustace is the Human Resources Manager of Highfield Healthcare.  Melanie is a graduate of UCD, DIT and NCI and holds an honours Degree in French and Spanish, a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Marketing and a Masters in Human Resource Management. She is an associate member of the CIPD.  Melanie moved to a career in HR following a number of years working as a Marketing Executive for international tax planning company, Pegasus Trust. Prior to commencing her role in Highfield Healthcare Melanie worked in the Human Resources Department of the Mater Private Hospital.  In 2006 Melanie moved to Highfield to set up the Human Resources department for Highfield Healthcare which involved centralising, formalising and developing the HR function.  Melanie now has overall responsibility for strategic and operational HR throughout Highfield Healthcare.

Patricia MacKenzie

RGN, RCN, Bsc.

Patricia MacKenzie has been working for Highfield Healthcare since 2005 as the Liaison Nurse.  Patricia’s main area of responsibility is the assessment and placement of patient throughout the various units of the Hospital.  Her role involves supporting families and helping them through what can be a very distressing period in their lives.  Patricia also liaises with other healthcare professionals including consultants, general practitioners, social workers and community nurses. All enquiries about the facilities and services offered by Highfield Healthcare including the admission process are directed to her. Patricia also facilitates the Alzheimer’s Support Group which offers advice and information to families and carers.
